Weekly Update(11/17/13)

This has been a good week for music videos. First off, Drake dropped the video for the song "Worst Behavior" at the beginning of the week. Drake commented that this was the one song he felt really confident in, and it shows in the video going all out with the cars and chains. The video was shot by Director X and there are cameos by Juicy J, Project Pat, Turk, and even his dad, Dennis Graham.
A$AP Rocky dropped the video for his song Phoenix off his album "Long.Live.A$AP." It was directed by Francesco Carrozzini and stars Michael K. Williams and Joan Smalls. In my opinion its one of the best songs on the album and im glad the video is finally out.
Machine Gun Kelly released the video for "Swing Life Away" ft. Kellin Quinn from his mixtape Black Flag. It is a very sentimental video to MGK and it shows that he put his whole heart into it, great video.
Other videos dropped this week including 2 Chainz - Fork, Kenna ft. Childish Gambino - Relations (Remix), Hopsin - Rip Your Heart Out ft. Tech N9ne, and OCD: Moosh & Twist ft. Hoodie Allen - All That I Know
Some new songs came out this week from artists such as Cisco Adler, Casey Veggies, Jhene Aiko, Asher Roth, and Rich Homie Quan
Mike Will Made It dropped a new song off his upcoming project that featured Migos and Wiz Khalifa called "Whippin A Brick". The songs is pretty hype and I cant wait for him to drop his new project.
Timbaland released a new song called Know Bout Me ft. Jay-Z, Drake, and James Fauntleroy. Jay is on it talking at the beginning but I don't think he has a verse. Timbaland drops a verse and it's pretty nice. Drake makes the song snapping on his verse. Also James Fauntleroy is amazing as usually, the song lives up to the hype it creates by hearing the artists on it.
Big news this week comes from artist Trinidad James, who claimed that the south runs New York. This got everyone in an uproar. James went on twitter to further explain:
"Black Dave.... Troy Ave...Dave east....SmokeDza...Joey badass... Artist who keep it NY and get no support. AM I LYING? Future Run NY radio." (@TrinidadJamesGG)
"Action Bronson Flatbush zombies..must I keep naming NY artist tht get no support.Eliot (Wilson) more famous than all these n**gas. That's fucked up." (@TrinidadJamesGG)
"Lastly I'ma always b da n**ga with the teeth who can't rap. Idc..my momma paid. But you can't never say I didn't keep it real. #CrazyDeacon (@TrinidadJamesGG)
He went on to further state:
"I didn't disrespect. Bt if you wanna think I did. Do what you feel is best. Either way i lose no sleep for being real. NY doesn't support NY" (@TrinidadJamesGG)
"When you say real shit people call it a melt down. That's fine. The truth will set you free......#CrazyDeacon (@TrinidadJamesGG)
I understand where Trinidad is coming from. Most of these artists he named are considered "underground" to most people. I would have to say that Action Bronson and Flatbush Zombies are pretty big, but he did leave off ASAP Mob, who has grown major publicity after ASAP Rocky blew up, and ASAP Ferg on the come-up. Many NY artists didn't like what Trinidad had to say here and took to twitter, like Action Bronson and Maino. James said he will be dropping a song that will put his career on the line, so he claimed. I've always respected Trinidad for speaking his mind and and keeping it 100. We'll see how this continues into next week.....
