Hip Hop Relevant Interview with Daily Dose

We got the chance to interview upcoming artist Daily Dose over email the other day. Joshua Andrew Boyer was born on 02/18/1992 and is from a small town in New Jersey(south) called Williamstown. Since day one he was exposed to music. Being the nephew of hip hop Icon KBS(KoolBreezeSteve) he was shown the ropes from an early age. In High School he was captain of both his football and wrestling team, but due to physical injuries turned down his sports scholarships. His interest in music skyrocketed after his decision to part ways with sports. From musical instruments to recording in a top notch studio he loved to be surround with music in any way, shape or form. His first mixtape "It's About Time vol.1" was recorded in small hill studios by Man Overboard's lead singer Nik Bruzzese, and made noise in his small town of 10,000 in 2011. DOSE has been featured in "Social Therapy Magazine", "Starline Radio", "Tha Artist Network", "Behind The Barricade" and "Hip Hop Relevant". Today he is 22 and is making a name with a solid fan base for himself. His current locations are NJ|PA|NY . Shows dates coming soon, become part of the nation #dosenation on Twitter, follow him @DoseBoy856

Q: What Can We Expect From You This Year?
A: "This year you will see a lot of remixes to your favorite songs. Right now I am in the middle of making my EP "COPACETIC" and it is definitely something to look out for. This EP will show and explain to my fans exactly who DOSE is. This will be my best material yet."

Q: Who Are Some Of Your Biggest Musical Influences?
A: "I have a few musical influence, like Nas, Biggie, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest and Rakim, but I have to say my uncle Steve is my biggest influence when it comes to music. I remember watching him record/engineer and produce all of his own music. If not to everyone my uncle is definitely a legend to me, he help mold Philadelphia Hip Hop to what it is today."

Q:How Would You Describe Your Style Of Music To Someone Who's Never Heard You?
A: "The best way to describe my style....just imagine you putting Logic's, Yelawolf's and A Tribe Called Quest's flows in a blender...yeah sounds crazy right? Well that is exactly what you would get from me, I never spit the same flow. I was always told that having a variety will always keep you interested, so I applied the same methods to my music and ran with it."

Q: Where Would You Say You're At Musically Today, And Where Do You Plan On Going?
A: "Right now I would say that I'm still in the novice stage of my career. I believe that in order to achieve greatness one must know what defeat feels like. I've been boo'd before and told that my career would never amount to anything. I never let it knock me down. I plan on creating my own Record Label to give "Real Artist" a "Real Chance" at a career that one could only dream of. I also want to open up a venue in my hometown(Williamstown, NJ) to broaden the music scene. We have tons of talent out here but such little recognition, I plan to tour the country and the UK within the next 5 years!"
